  • Celebrating 20 Years of Film Music Review Online

    Roger Hall offers a wonderful variety of reviews, music, DVDs, CDs, and multimedia resources on his American Music Preservation site.

    To celebrate his 20th Anniversary, I was invited to choose 20 scores to reflect upon as important scores.  I decided to take a look at all the scores I have loved over the past 20 years, rank them, and then discuss the top 20.  The results were interesting to say the least.  Even better, noted film historian Steve Vertlieb also contributed a wonderful article highlighting 20 classic scores.  Roger noted some of the finest film music releases of the past 20 years as well.  Taken together, they make a great starting point for anyone interested in exploring the best of film music.  Be sure to check it out:  http://www.americanmusicpreservation.com/FMR20thanniversary.html .
